Friendlies dont count, but England actually did very well in the Euro quallifyng, hence their ranking.

I expect they will drop like a stone after these finals though.

wansteadman, Like it or not Wales entering the Euro 2016 semi final has out done any thing that that England done since Euro 96.

You may say "they were lucky on this, they were shit on that" but I could bet your bottom dollar that Woy and England squad would want to swop places with Wales right now.

Wrighty kept saying " I confident ...we keep make chances"

History don't remember the chances you made just the results - and is all that matters!

I spend a lot of time in the welsh valleys and find the taffs to be good, down to earth people as a whole. Unless they are a very two faced I've not encountered any sort of hate

"If there was a war we would be proud to fight by your sides"

Judging by the Euro performances I believe the Welsh would be somewhere at the front & the frightened English skulking somewhere at the back!

Re: Wales v Belgium
The reason we beat Wales was because they were shit apart from hart letting a shit free kick in they offered nothing. They were shit against NI because NI got 11 behind the ball like the teams we played. You look at Wales 2nd and 3rd goals they were on the break where we never had that pleasure. We were dogshit but never had the breaks the Welsh had last night and they had enough about them to take advantage and they have enough to beat an average Portuguese side

Re: Wales v Belgium
They must take into account friendlies for the ranking, as how the fuck can England still be 11th after the WC disaster? Surely every team that qualified for the next round would rank ahead of us, and im sure after this exit we will still be higher than Wales and conveniently close to the top 10...........maybe thats why we seem to play so many pointless friendlies?

Me thinks that FIFA and co with falsely keep the big football nations national sides higher than they should be, not least so at tournaments they have a better chance of progressing, and can be seeded so they avoid each other at early stages of those tournamounts

Argentine beef is highly ranked. As was Gabriella Sabatini.

Belgian chocolate is highly ranked.

Neither of which is relevant to this thread.

Hmmm, I suppose if Argentina are ranked no1, then Belgium being No2 is equally valid.

That is, not at all.

Re: Wales v Belgium
They are ranked number 2 behind Argentina in the FIFA rankings
England are number 11, ahead of Italy & France.

It's all about winning qualifiers against Atlantis & Timbuktu & meaningless friendlies.

My rankings :
Germany : number 1
Everybody else : NOWHERE

There's LOVELY!!

Well done Wales. Good luck in the next game.

On a side note, how the flying fuck are Belgium rated Numero UNO in the World???

I wouldn't put them in the top four.

Don you summed it up perfectly...picking out of form players and reserves from so called big teams. We all know that Creswell, Noble, Antonio and Carroll would have run their heart out in France. We needed a leader at times against Iceland....I can't think of a better Englshman than Mark Noble.
However let's celebrate Wales historic victory! Wonderful Wonderful stuff. The best Welsh football team in history! c'mon Wales!

Fair play to the Taffies, their organisation and belief was in stark contrast to our lot

Roy should hang is head in shame - 'these things happen' my fucking arse

Lato i'd take their cb's over ours all day long.
They're a much more balanced team than England, they have got a midfielder with a proper football brain and one that will run all day, they've got a genuine world class player who the opposition proper worry about, they all do the job they're supposed to do.
We had players that were out of form, were injured all season or were just picked because they played for certain teams and apparently are big name players.
They also have a manager that knows what he is doing.
How we beat them I will never know.

Lato 4:26 Sat Jul 2
Re: Wales v Belgium
Wales performance tonight makes England's piss poor effort even worse if that is possible because only 3 welsh players Bale, Ramsay and Williams would get into the England team.

Pedro - you mean Wales can look forward to a Wangland team as good as England?

Hammer-ed 3:49 Sat Jul 2
Re: Wales v Belgium
Eerie Descent not that England would want them if they wasn't selected for Wales before the tournament since Woy mainly likes the so called big teams in the Premiership.

Wales and Iceland play to their strengths. Third goal tonight a typical Premier League effort. Note to the next England manager.

But if Noble, Cresswell, Carroll and Antonio were in that charmless, wank English squad, it would be a lot less charmless and wank.
